News arriving from the people who attended IX CIELE-ICWEL.
What they say about:

After noon I have sitting at the desk for writing the reports of ICWEL for my magazine and Kansai Poets' Association HP. This convention was very much instructive to me. There are many interesting presentation, of course, including the one by yourself. Lucretius was an enlightening poet of the days when superstition dominated he society.
He was a naturalist and man of reason. He was a scientific poet of the pre-scientific days. Poet has always insight for future. It is the duty of the poet to express his idea of his time. Your opinion is much the same to my idea of poet. And now I could understand why you encouraged me to read the last chapter of my paper, even though I had spent too much time. Alfredo Leyva's paper was interesting to me, because I have had no idea about Aljamia language. I looked into the Webster's big dictionary and find the word. Ricardo's paper was also very interesting and instructive. My question to him was not good. I had to ask him about the necessity of reading Erasmus in these days, expecting probably a similar reason of reading Lucretius now. I believe the convention of this year was very much more successful than that of two years ago. All of them seem to be concerned with duty of poet of the days. It is always important question. Why do we write poems? Thanks to your great efforts. Always your friend, Koichi

Dear Mariette I hope you have rested yourself and recovered from your fatigue after the Convention. In Malaga I had unforgettable time with you and participants. Thank you for your help with devotion and zeal for the Convention. I really loved the meeting and the excursions. Poetry reading fired my imagination. I have been fascinated by Spanish, its sound and rhythm as well as by Japanese when Setsuko read. Thank you for a pleasant time in Malaga. Lot of love,
Miharu

Dear Mariette,
This is to express my gratitude to you for everything you did for us during our stay in Malaga since I have come back home today (12th).
Thank you for yor kindness, courage, and hard work to and for us all.
We very much enjoyed our stay with you.
I am going to keep learning Spanish for another chance because I really liked it in Spain and also because I feel I am a bit accutomed to the rhythm of the language.
Please say hello to all of our friends in Malaga: Manuel, Angel, and others.
Kanaeko and Yuko are sending their love to all of you.
Best,
